The course of events
As a result of a decisive defeat in the struggle for the Kiev throne, Yuri lost Pereyaslavl , and then his last possession in the south - Gorodets , then unsuccessfully besieged Chernigov .
Izyaslav went on the offensive, releasing part of the Kiev squad home with his co-regent, Vyacheslav Vladimirovich . Mstislav Izyaslavich was sent back in response to the Polovtsy, who participated in the siege of Chernigov on the side of Yuri.
The Allies laid siege to Novgorod-Seversky, took the prison and accepted the peace offer from Svyatoslav Olgovich. His right to the Novgorod-Seversky principality was recognized, but he pledged to break the alliance with Yuri. As a result, in the south, Yuri remained the last ally , to whom Izyaslav turned his efforts shortly after the siege of Novgorod-Seversky.
