Story
The picture takes place a year after the events told in the movie " Cold Heart ". Elsa , Kristoff, Sven and Olaf are planning to give Anna a birthday surprise, but while Anna is asked to walk along the thread that passes through Erendell, Elsa gets cold and unknowingly creates a group of small snowmen with every sneeze. Snowmen begin to disassemble the birthday decorations, and Kristoff tries to stop them. Elsa accompanies Anna on a string, and Kristoff, Sven and Olaf try to catch the snowmen and watch the decorations in a timely manner until Anna and Elsa return. After Elsa nearly fell off the clock tower, Anna convinces her to rest. Anna enjoys the party, and Elsa lets out a giant snowball with her sneeze through an alpine horn that accidentally flies to Hans abroad, after which Elsa lies in bed under Anna’s tutelage. Olaf, Kristoff and Sven accompany the little snowmen to the ice palace of Elsa, where they remain to live with their snow giant Marshmallow.

Creation History

On September 2, 2014, during a screening of a documentary about the creation of the film “ Cold Heart ” on ABC TV channel, the main creative director of Walt Disney Animation Studios, John Lasseter announced the beginning of work on a short film [6] . On the same day, the name of the future short film was revealed and it was announced that the directors Chris Buck and Jennifer Lee and producer Peter Del Vecho will participate in the creation of the cartoon. In addition, the film will feature a new song written by Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez [7] [8] [9] . On December 3, 2014, Aimi Scribner was appointed co-producer of the animation tape, which will premiere on March 13, 2015 before the screening of the Cinderella movie [10] [11] . “There is something magical about these characters, actors, and music. Let's hope that the audience will like our short film. It was a lot of fun , ”said directors Buck and Lee during an interview with the Associated Press [12] . Around the same time, Dave Metzger, arranger of songs for “Cold Heart”, completed work on the short film [13] .
The animated film featured the song “I Give You This Day One”, written by Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez [3] . On March 1, 2015, at the premiere of the films “Cinderella” and “Cold Triumph” at the Hollywood theater, El Capitan Josh Gad told USA Today : “I want to apologize to parents all over the world for singing a completely new song written for "Cold celebration" " [14] .
In June 2014, the creators began to pick up ideas for the plot of the cartoon [15] . During the first discussions, the artist Mark Smith said: “And what if Elsa has a cold?” . As a result, the creators appreciated the idea and set to work [15] . In August, the directors, together with the voice actors, returned to the recording studio to record the vocals for the tracks. The creation of the Cold Celebration took six months [16] . All the artists who worked on Cold Heart wanted to return to work in order to revive at least one frame in Cold Celebration, which resulted in a large number of animated captions for a short film [17] .

Criticism
Claudia Puig of USA Today gave a short three out of four stars and described a new song (“I give you one day”) as pleasant. Summing up, the journalist writes: “Let the short film be not as exciting and innovative as the original, but still it is nice to look at the short story of these two sisters” [3] . Having written for the BBC , Natalie Jamison called the new song memorable and funny [21] . Dan Coise of Slate called the film a complete breakage [22] . Robbie Colin from The Daily Telegraph newspaper praised the song “I give you one day” and called the short film a “spongy confection made of pure sugar” , and he also suggested that songwriters Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez could have thought of “something This is special for the expected picture - the full-length sequel to “Cold Heart” [23] .
Whitney Saybold from the site CraveOnline noted that the painting "demonstrates the celebration of the very kind for conspicuous consumerism that Disney always blurs the landscape" [24] . Mike Scott from The Times-Picayune emphasized that “with its combination of sweets, stupidity and pettiness, this animated short film from Disney fits well in vision and in spirit with the original“ Cold Heart ”” [25] .
