Ship Description

A sailing battleship of rank 4 , the length of the keel was 32 meters, the length on the upper deck was 38.4 meters, the width according to various sources was from 9.45 to 9.5 meters, and the draft was 4.1 meters. The armament of the vessel was 50 guns, and the crew consisted of 350 people [1] [2] .

Service History

The ship was bought by F. S. Saltykov in 1713 in England and, under the name "Fortune", became part of the Baltic Fleet of Russia. April 30 ( May 11 ), 1714 the ship as part of the detachment came to Revel [1] [2] .

He took part in the Northern War . From 1714, 1715 and from April to July 1716 he went on cruising voyages to the Gulf of Finland as part of a squadron. July 19 ( 30 ), 1716 came to Copenhagen as part of the squadron of captain-commander P.I. Sievers . FROM5 ( 16 ) On August 14 (25), being part of the four combined fleets of Russia, Denmark , Holland and England, he went in search of the Swedish fleet to the island of Bornholm in the Baltic Sea , and on October 22 ( November 2 ) returned with other ships of the Russian squadron [2] ] .

On November 9 (20), he was in the Reval harbor, during a severe storm he was torn off the anchors, carried out of the harbor and on November 10 ( 21 ), 1716 , was broken by waves on the shallows [1] [2] .
