Geography
It is located on the left bank of the Barguzin River, 65 km northeast of the Kurumkan district center , 40 km south of the borders of the Jerghinsky Reserve.
History
It was founded in 1961 by the Ministry of Forestry and Woodworking Industry of the Buryat Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic as a village of timber industry . In 1974, the Dzherginsky Nature Reserve was established and since 1992, the central estate of the Dzherginsky Reserve, transformed on the basis of the reserve, has been located in the village.
