The authorship of the book is confirmed by the fact that this musnad became known under the name “Musnad al-Khumaydi”, as well as the fact that all hadiths transmitted in the collection go back personally to Imam al-Khumaydi. The sources of hadith in the book are teachers and sheikhs al-Khumaidi (for example, Sufyan ibn Uyayna).
In Musnad al-Khumaydi, about 1300 hadiths were collected from 182 associates of Muhammad, of which 582 hadiths correspond to the conditions of the Sahih al-Bukhari and Muslim , 96 conditions of only al-Bukhari and 152 conditions of Muslim ibn al-Hajjaj (that is, 830 hadiths of 1300 are reliable - sahih ). In addition to reliable hadiths, the Musnad also contains good ( hasan ) and weak hadiths ( daif ). According to later researchers, the number of weak hadiths is 7% of the total. This indicates a high degree of reliability and trust in the traditions of al-Khumaydi among Sunni hadith scholars . Al-Khumaidi was one of the strong students of Sufyan ibn Uyayna, was a friend of al-Shafi'ya , a teacher of al-Bukhari, al-Zuhli, Abu Zura ar-Razi and Abu Hatima ar-Razi [1] .
