The squadron commander was Vlado Petkovsky, and the political director was Mikhailo Sofeysky. The squadron consisted of 90 people. The squadron was transformed into the 1st Macedonian cavalry division, which, in turn, was expanded to a brigade on December 29, 1944 . The brigade was personally subordinate to the NOAA General Headquarters in Macedonia. The brigade consisted of three cavalry divisions and one convoy squadron, the number of personnel was 540 people (with 199 horses). In March 1945, the brigade, together with the 9th and 12th shock brigades, moved to Western Macedonia, where they fought against Albanian ballistas.
