Mitsume ga Tooru ( Japanese 三 つ 目 が と お る ) is a Japanese manga authored by Osamu Tezuka . Published by Kodansha in Weekly Shōnen Magazine from July 7, 1974 to March 19, 1978 . Manga, along with Tezuki's other work, Black Jack, received the Kodansha Award in 1977. [1] Based on the manga, TV specials were released in 1985 and an anime series broadcast on TV Tokyo from October 18, 1990 to September 26, 1991 . A total of 48 anime episodes have been released. The series was also broadcast in England , the Philippines and Taiwan . [2] Based on the manga, the game Mitsume ga Tooru was released.

Content
Story
The plot unfolds around a boy named Sharaku, who belongs to the mysterious ancient super-race of three-eyed people, who at the dawn of the history of mankind created a highly developed civilization. Syaraku himself must hide his third eye under the band-aid with other people, and in order to unravel the secret of his hidden power, he must study the ancient scriptures of the remaining ruins located in Arizona , Easter Island, and Mexico .
