Biography
He was born on February 12 (25), 1907, in the village of Tyshka, Dolgovichi volost, Mogilev province . [2]
In 1929 he graduated from the A. Herzen Leningrad Pedagogical Institute [2] , and in 1936 he graduated from the same school. [3]
In 1929 - 1933 he worked in pedagogical schools of Mordovia and Samara. [3]
In 1936 - 1952 he was an assistant professor, professor and head of the department of Russian literature, he taught and was engaged in scientific research at the Kuibyshev Pedagogical Institute . [2] [3]
In 1939 - 1948 - Dean of the Faculty of Russian Language and Literature of the Kuibyshev Pedagogical Institute . [3]
In 1941 he joined the CPSU (b) . [2]
From 1952 to 1985 - professor and head of the Department of Contemporary Literature of Moscow State University named after M.V. Lomonosov . [2] [3]
In 1960 he defended his thesis for the degree of Doctor of Philology on the theme “Mayakovsky’s work in the first years of Soviet power. 1917-1924. " [2]
