Physical Properties
Nickel (II) perchlorate forms crystalline hydrates of the composition Ni (ClO 4 ) 2 • n H 2 O, where n = 2, 5, and 6 are green crystals.
It is well soluble in water, ethanol and acetone , not soluble in chloroform .
The crystalline hydrate of the composition Ni (ClO 4 ) 2 • 6H 2 O forms hexagonal crystals, the cell parameters a = 1.546 nm, c = 0.517 nm.
With ammonia forms adducts of the form Ni (ClO 4 ) 2 • 6NH 3 - crystals of cubic syngony , cell parameters a = 1.1433 nm.
