Budyshinsky oath (literally - V.-puddle. Budyska přisaha ) is a monument to Puddle literature. The manuscript is in Upper Luzhsk language , which refers to the so-called " Lusatian linguistic monuments ". It is considered the oldest surviving written monument in Upper Luzhsk language [1] . A manuscript dated around 1530 [2] represents the oath taken by the inhabitants of Budishin to the King of Bohemia Ferdinand I.

Linguistic features
The manuscript is an example of the development of the Upper Luzhitsky language and its dialects. The monument contains morphological and phonological features that are not characteristic of the Upper Lena language. Luzhitsky historian and linguist Ginz Schuster-Shevts suggests that these features indicate that the oath was made by the author, who either did not distinguish his native Lower-Lutsk language from the Czech and Upper-Lutsk languages, or deliberately introduced Lower-Lutsk words to the Upper-Lutsk text [3] .
Luzhitsky linguist Edward Werner refutes the version of Schuster-Shevts, arguing that if you divide the text into Czech, lower-bar and upper-bar elements, then a situation will arise when lower-man-parts have insignificant text value and are only phonetic units. According to Edward Werner, this situation indicates that the oath was translated from Czech into Upper Luzhsk. The author replaced the Czech ř with a ť. Then the Upper Lyuzhnik text was translated into German by the author, who was not very familiar with spelling and did not understand the peculiarities of Lower Lyudian and Upper Lyudian spelling. It is assumed that the same author gave the manuscript its name “Budishinsky oath”.
