Peter Arnold Geisse (actually Peter Heise ; February 11, 1830, Copenhagen - September 12, 1879) - Danish composer, organist, songwriter. He is also known as the author of music for folk songs intended for learning in schools.

Biography
He was fond of music since childhood, but his parents predicted his career as a lawyer. He began to write his own songs from the age of 18. He studied philosophy for some time, but did not go to the law faculty, starting instead to study music theory from Berggrin. His teachers were also Lund and Gade. Subsequently went to study music in Leipzig, where Hauptmann was his teacher. After graduation, he became a member of the student fraternity, from 1854 to 1857 he led the student choral society, in the same years he began to write music for comedies and vaudeville.
From 1857 to 1865, he was a teacher and organist at the Soryo Academy. In 1859, Heise married Wilhelmine Hage, daughter of a wealthy merchant, which ensured him financial independence. In 1865, the couple moved to Copenhagen, after which Heise devoted the rest of his life to writing music. In 1861-1862, 1867, 1868-1869 and 1879 he traveled around Italy, and also visited Paris in the spring of 1865.
Author of the operas Die Tochter des Paschas (1869), König u. Marschall ”(1878), music for dramas“ Bertrand de Born ”,“ Palnatoke ”, as well as many other plays and ballets, many different concert compositions and folk songs.
