Biography
He was born on January 1, 1914 in the village of Novokurmankeevo, which previously existed in the territory of the modern Davlekanovsky district of the Republic of Bashkortostan , in a peasant family. He graduated from 7 classes of a rural school. He began his career as a pupil of the sifter at the mill. Then he worked as an assistant to the engineer, a turner in the machine-tractor workshops.
Since 1936 he served in the Far East . After demobilization in 1938 he arrived in the city of Perm. Entered work at engine plant number 19 . He worked as a turner, a adjuster. During the Great Patriotic War, he worked for 18-20 hours a day, handing over perfectly made details to the front. Later he worked as a team leader, shift foreman, dispatcher. He proved himself to be a rationalizer, was able to optimally organize the workplace. After the formation of rocket production at the plant, it performed one of the most difficult operations - the final processing of the turbine rotor of the RD-214 rocket engine, strictly adhered to all technological requirements.
By a decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of June 17, 1961, Konstantin Sergeyevich Kvashnin was awarded the title of Hero of Socialist Labor with the awarding of the Order of Lenin and the Gold Hammer and Sickle Medal for outstanding services in creating rocket technology samples and ensuring a successful human flight into outer space. He lived in the city of Perm. He died in 1966.
