Biography

Born May 1, 1904 in the village of Vostokovo, Garinsky district, Sverdlovsk region ,. He graduated from grade 4. He worked as an accountant on a collective farm.

In August 1941, he was drafted into the Red Army by the Gorinsky district military enlistment office. In the army since November 1941. He fought on the Kalinin, Bryansk, Belorussian and 2nd Belorussian fronts. In 1943 he joined the CPSU (b) , was wounded twice, and was seriously injured for the second time. After the hospital he returned to the front. By the summer of 1944, he fought as a part of the 837th Infantry Regiment of the 238th Infantry Division as a gunner, calculation commander of a 76-mm gun.

On August 6, 1944, in the battle for the city of Knyshyn, the Red Army soldier Nefyodkov destroyed two machine gun points, 3 carts, and several dozens of opponents while directing two enemy counterattacks. In this battle he was wounded, but he did not leave the battlefield.

By order of the 238th Infantry Division on August 31, 1944, Red Army soldier Nefyodkov Afanasy Frolovich was awarded the Order of Glory of the 3rd degree.

On September 4, 1944, in the battles for the settlement of Vezhbovo, the Red Army soldier Nefyodkov directly destroyed the enemy observation post and 2 machine-gun points. On September 5, in the area of ​​the village of Vzhezhech, he knocked out a car, 2 wagons, disabled more than 10 opponents. He was presented for the award of the Order of the Red Star .

By order of the 49th Army on October 26, 1944, Red Army soldier Nefyodkov Afanasy Frolovich was awarded the Order of Glory of the 3rd degree.

On January 20, 1945, while taking control of the Partsyaki station, Junior Sergeant Nefyodkov brought the guns to direct fire and destroyed 4 machine gun points, 3 carts and up to 70 opponents with the fire of his gun. The calculation, in which the gunner was Nefyodkov, was one of the first to burst into the field and with fire from the guns continued to clear the way for the infantry. On January 23, in battles near the village of Kiparren, with precision fire, he destroyed 3 machine guns, 4 carts and an observation post of the enemy, from which all our battle formations were viewed.

By decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR dated April 10, 1945, Junior Sergeant Nefyodkov Afanasy Frolovich was awarded the Order of Glory of the 1st degree. He became the full holder of the Order of Glory.

At the final stage of the war, he fought as part of the 76th mortar regiment. In May 1945, Junior Sergeant Nefyodkov was seriously wounded in a battle in the head. He spent several months in hospitals. July 20, 1945 he died of wounds in evacuation hospital No. 1898. He was buried in a military cemetery near the city of Bialystok.

He was awarded the orders of Glory of the 1st, 2nd and 3rd degrees.
