Biography
Born on January 2, 1925 in the village of Letichovka, Monastyrishchensky district, Cherkasy region . Ukrainian. Member of the CPSU / CPSU since 1960. He graduated from 7 classes. In 1941, he was evacuated to the city of Krasnoyarsk, where he graduated from the school of factory training. He worked as a tinsmith at one of the enterprises of Krasnoyarsk.
In July 1943 he was drafted into the Red Army . In October 1943 he was sent as a machine gunner to the 252nd Guards Rifle Regiment of the 83rd Guards Rifle Division. As part of the 11th Guards Army of the 3rd Belorussian Front, he participated in battles in East Prussia. On October 27, 1944, in the battle for the settlement of Shmulkyon of the guard, the Red Armyman Kibalny destroyed 14 enemy soldiers and one officer.
By order of the commander of the 83rd Guards Rifle Division of November 26, 1944, for the courage shown in battles with the enemy, the guard, the Red Army soldier Kibalny was awarded the Order of Glory of the 3rd degree.
On January 25, 1945, the commander of the calculation of the machine gun of the guard, Corporal Kibalny, penetrated the rear of the enemy in the vicinity of the village of Biberswalde, where he destroyed two machine guns with fire and destroyed 13 opponents, which allowed our units to occupy the village.
On January 28, when repulsing an enemy counterattack in the vicinity of the settlement of Wickbald, Kibalny allowed the enemy to go at close range and killed eight opponents with machine-gun fire.
By order of the 11th Guards Army dated March 6, 1945, Corporal Kibalny was awarded the Order of Glory of the 2nd degree.
On April 6, 1945, in battle on the outskirts of the city of Königsberg, Guard Sergeant Major Kibalny, along with a calculation from a machine gun, crushed three firing points of Fort No. 10, and struck 19 enemy soldiers.
On April 9, in the same area, with a calculation, he was among the first to cross the left bank of the Pregol River, using fire from a machine gun to cover the crossing of the main forces of the battalion. He was wounded, but remained in service. In battle, he exterminated 22 soldiers and enemy officers, thereby ensuring the unit was able to overcome the river.
By a decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of June 29, 1945, for the courage, bravery and heroism shown in the fight against the invaders, Guard Sergeant Major Kibalny Vasily Zakharovich was awarded the Order of Glory of the 1st degree.
Later he participated in a naval landing on the Frisch-Nehrung spit. On April 25, Kibalny, with his calculation, was among the first to land on the boat. Suppressed the enemy firing point, destroyed and scattered around the platoon of infantry. Continuing the battle in the depths of German defense, he was surrounded. He repelled five counterattacks of superior enemy forces. When the ammunition ran out, he continued to fight from the captured weapons. He kept the line until the approach of the main forces, while destroying about 40 opponents, captured another 75. Subsequently, he replaced the failed platoon commander. For this battle he was awarded the Order of the Red Banner . After the end of World War II, he continued to serve in the army. In 1957 he graduated from 10 classes, and in 1963 - the Far Eastern Military Automobile School. In 1968, Lt. Col. Kibalny was sacked. He lived in the city of Vladivostok, then moved to Cherkasy. He worked in the regional transport department.
He was awarded the orders of the Red Banner , Glories of the 1st, 2nd and 3rd degree, medals.
He died on October 30, 1970.
