The men's 10,000 meters final took place on August 13, 2014. The start of the race was postponed for 20 minutes due to the storm warning announced in Zurich before the start of the evening program. The final acceleration of Briton Mohammed Farah earned him the fourth European outdoor title (second at a distance of 10,000 meters, after winning in 2010 ). The second quite unexpectedly was his teammate Andy Vernon , who showed his best result of the season and ahead of many strong opponents. Two naturalized Kenyans playing for Turkey - Ali Kaya and European champion 2012 at this distance, Polat Arikan - took 3rd and 4th places, respectively [1] .
