Biography
Born on November 5, 1923 in the village of Dalnik, Belyaevsky District, Odessa Region . Ukrainian. The son of a complete St. George cavalier. He graduated from 10 classes. From August 1941 to April 1944 he was in the temporarily occupied territory.
After the liberation of the village in April 1944, he was drafted into the Red Army and sent to the front by the telephone operator of the 244th Guards Rifle Regiment of the 82nd Guards Rifle Division. As part of the 8th Guards Army, he fought on the 3rd Ukrainian and 1st Belorussian fronts. He participated in the battles on the Dniester, the offensive in the Kovel direction, the forcing of the Western Bug and the Vistula, the battles on the Magnushevsky bridgehead , and the Vistula-Oder operation . He distinguished himself during the blocking of the German garrison of the fortified city of Poznan and in the Berlin operation .
During the battles on January 26-28, 1945, in the battles for Poznan, under the enemy fire, he eliminated 38 gusts on communication lines, which provided the battalion commander with communications with the companies.
By order of the commander of the 82nd Guards Rifle Division of February 26, 1945, Junior Sergeant Perekrestov was awarded the Order of Glory of the 3rd degree for the courage shown in battles with the enemy.
During the period from February 1 to February 7, 1945 at Poznan Perekrestov with soldiers under enemy fire, he eliminated 50 gusts of telephone communications, which ensured the success of the battalion. On February 7, when repulsing an enemy counterattack, he destroyed five opponents. He was wounded, but continued to carry out a combat mission.
On March 17, 1945, by order of the commander of the division of the guard, Junior Sergeant Perekrestov was re-awarded the Order of Glory of the 3rd degree.
By a decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of October 1, 1968, Perekrestov Alexander Yakovlevich was re- awarded the Order of Glory of the 1st degree.
The signalman of the mortar guard company, sergeant Perekrestov, on April 23, 1945, in the battle on the outskirts of the city of Berlin while crossing the Spree river, established uninterrupted communication with the companies, eliminated 18 gusts on the line passing through the river. He was wounded, but remained in service.
By order of the 8th Guards Army of May 31, 1945, the sergeant Perekrestov was awarded the Order of Glory of the 2nd degree.
In 1948, demobilized. He returned to his native village. He worked as a club manager. Since 1951 he served in the bodies of the State Security Committee. Member of the CPSU / CPSU since 1956. He lived in the city of Odessa. Since 1983, Lt. Col. Perekrestov in stock. He died on June 25, 1983. He was buried in Odessa at the Tairovsky cemetery .
He was awarded the orders of the Red Star , Glory of the 1st, 2nd and 3rd degree, medals.
One of the streets of the village of Dalnik is named after him.
