Biography
Born January 28, 1910 in the village of Mizinovka (now Zvenigorod district of Cherkasy region) in a peasant family. Ukrainian. Education is incomplete secondary. Worked on a collective farm. In 1928-1930 he served in the Red Army . From July 1941 to January 1944 he was in the temporarily occupied territory.
In January 1944, after the liberation of the village, he was again drafted into the Red Army and sent by a machine gunner to the 465th Infantry Regiment of the 167th Infantry Division. Member of the CPSU / CPSU since 1944. From the very first days he participated in the battles to eliminate the enemy Korsun-Shevchenko group.
On January 13, reflecting the attack of large forces of opponents trying to break into the blocked group, the regiment was surrounded in the vicinity of the village of Tikhonovka. Together with the detachment, the Red Army Belokon repulsed four enemy attacks in which he personally destroyed nine enemy soldiers. After 15 days of fighting, the remnants of the regiment went to the main forces of the division. E.L. Belokon was then appointed division commander.
Subsequently, he, as part of the 1st Guards Army of the 1st Ukrainian Front, participated in battles in the area of Kamenetz-Podolsky, Buchach, and Rogatin. In the fighting from February to July 1944, the Red Army Belokon destroyed more than 20 enemy soldiers and officers. On the outskirts of the city of Khodorov, on July 19, 1944, together with the squad, he repelled three enemy counterattacks, inflicting damage on him in manpower and military equipment, while personally killing six German soldiers.
By order of the commander of the 167th Infantry Division of August 5, 1944, for the courage shown in battles with the enemy, the Red Army Belokon was awarded the Order of Glory of the 3rd degree.
In August 1944, the 1st Guards Army was transferred to the 4th Ukrainian Front and, during the Lviv-Sandomierz operation, launched an offensive in the direction of the city of Sanok.
Junior sergeant Belokon, as part of the group, while fulfilling the task of capturing the control prisoner on August 20, 1944 in the area of the city of Sanok, secretly approached the enemy trenches and was the first to burst into the enemy’s location. In a fleeting battle, 20 opponents were killed, three were taken prisoner.
By order of the 1st Guards Army of September 10, 1944, Junior Sergeant Belokon was awarded the Order of Glory of the 2nd degree.
On September 9, 1944, troops of the 4th Ukrainian Front launched an offensive during the East Carpathian operation. On this day, E. L. Belokon, in the battle for the village of Sanok, advanced ahead of the unit's battle formation and personally exterminated ten fascists.
On September 19, in the area of the settlement of Pshebyszow, he assumed command of a platoon and bypassed the enemy and went on the flank. With a sudden attack, the platoon knocked out the enemy from a dominant height, capturing an important stronghold. In the battle eliminated up to 30 German soldiers and officers. Junior Sergeant Belokon was seriously injured.
By decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of March 24, 1945, for the courage, bravery and heroism shown in the fight against the invaders, Junior Sergeant Belokon Yefim Leontyevich was awarded the Order of Glory of the 1st degree.
In November 1945, Sergeant Belokon was demobilized. Since 1968 - retired foreman. He lived in the village of Mizinovka. He worked as a forager on the farm "Lenin Spark." Since 1970, retired.
He was awarded the orders of the Patriotic War of the 1st degree, Glory of the 1st, 2nd and 3rd degree, medals.
He died on July 11, 1992.
