Marina Yurievna Yatsun ( April 21, 1982 , Moscow ) - the Russian kayak racer , played for the Russian team in the first half of the 2000s. Biography

Marina Yatsun was born on April 21, 1982 in Moscow . She began to actively engage in kayaking in early childhood, she was trained in the specialized children and youth school of the Olympic reserve of the Moscow State Sports School of Sports and Moskomsport and in the Moscow secondary special school of the Olympic reserve No. 2, she was a member of the Dynamo All-Russian Sports and Fitness Society. She achieved her first serious success in 2001, winning two gold medals at the Russian Championship - at a two-hundred-meter distance in doubles and fours. A year later, she defended the championship in fours.

At the adult international level, Yatsun first made herself known in the 2002 season, when she joined the main team of the Russian national team and thanks to a series of successful performances she was awarded the right to defend the country's honor at the European Championship in Szeged, Hungary. With a four-seater crew, which also included rowers Natalya Guliy , Galina Poryvaeva and Olga Tishchenko , won the bronze medal in the 200-meter race, losing the lead only to the teams of Spain and Hungary.

In 2003, she added two more gold medals to the national championship, becoming the best among single kayaks at a distance of two hundred meters and among fours at a thousand meters. At the 2006 Russian Championship, held on the rowing canal in Krylatskoye , she took two bronzes and two silver in various disciplines [1] .

For outstanding sports achievements she was awarded the honorary title " Master of Sports of Russia of the international class ." Currently, Marina Yatsun occupies the position of head of the rowing sports department at the MSSUOR No. 2 [2] . Participates in rowing competitions as a judge, is a judge of the first category [3] .
