Lucius was probably the younger brother of the 60-year-old consul-sufferer Guy Welley Paterculus and the son or grandson of the historian Welleus Paterculus . From July to August 61, he held the post of Consul- Suffect, along with Gnei Pedia Fusk Salinator .
