Biography
Konstantin Tyurin was born on November 2, 1905 in Simbirsk . After graduating from four classes of the school, he worked as a digger. In 1942, Tyurin was called up for service in the Workers 'and Peasants' Red Army. Since September of the same year - on the fronts of World War II [1] .
By September 1943, Red Army soldier Konstantin Tyurin was a scout of the 1st battalion of the 465th Infantry Regiment of the 167th Infantry Division of the 51st Infantry Corps of the 38th Army of the Voronezh Front . He distinguished himself during the battle of the Dnieper . During the fighting on the approaches to the Dnieper, Tyurin conducted reconnaissance of the German fire system, which contributed to the successful breakthrough of the enemy’s defense. On September 30, 1943, he was one of the first to cross the Dnieper in the Vyshgorod area, carried out reconnaissance of the German defense and took an active part in the battles for the capture and retention of the bridgehead on the west bank of the river. October 12, 1943 Tyurin personally captured an important "language" [1] .
By a decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of November 13, 1943, for “successfully crossing the Dnieper River, firmly securing the bridgehead on the western bank of the Dnieper River and showing courage and heroism”, Red Army soldier Konstantin Tyurin was awarded the high rank of Hero of the Soviet Union with the award of the Order of Lenin and the medal “ Golden Star ” under number 4230 [1] .
After the war, Tyurin was demobilized. He lived and worked in Ulyanovsk. He died on September 24, 1995, was buried in the Northern cemetery of Ulyanovsk [1] .
He was also awarded the Order of the Patriotic War of the 1st degree and a number of medals [1] .
