Biography
Born on February 21, 1925 in the village of Sludka (now the Oparinsky district of the Kirov region ) in a peasant family. Pole. From the age of 12 he already worked on the Bolshevik collective farm. In 1940 he graduated from tractor training courses at the Molomskaya MTS, worked here as a tractor driver for two years. Then one more year he works in the Oparinsky forestry enterprise.
In 1943 he was drafted into the Red Army . He served in the Far East, a participant in the war with Japan. In 1950 he was demobilized, returned to his homeland.
Again he began to work in the Oparinsky Lestrankhoz on logging operations. After 2 years, he was appointed team leader and for twenty years led the small integrated team. Under the leadership of I.K. Tsiunel, the brigade became the foremost in the logging industry of the Kirov region . In the late 1950s, the team appealed to all loggers in the Kirov region with an appeal to increase labor productivity and increase volumes of logging and logging. The brigade itself fulfilled the plan of 1959-1965 ahead of schedule, in 4 years and 4 months, working with the highest output. She was awarded the title of brigade of communist labor.
By decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Council of the USSR of September 17, 1966, for outstanding achievements in fulfilling the tasks of the seven-year plan for the development of the timber, pulp and paper and woodworking industries, Tsiunel Ivan Klimentievich was awarded the title Hero of Socialist Labor with the award of the Order of Lenin and the Gold Medal "Hammer and Sickle" .
The plan of 1968, the brigade of I.K. Tsiunel fulfilled 139%. Over the years of the eighth five-year plan, the team procured more than 104 thousand cubic meters of forest and did not yield leadership to anyone.
Ivan Klimentievich Tsiunel tragically died on February 5, 1972.
He was awarded the Orders of Lenin , the October Revolution, and medals.
Until the beginning of the 1990s, in order to perpetuate his memory, competitions were held in the area by logging teams for the right to be called the brigade named after Hero of Socialist Labor I.K. Tsiunel. A challenge pennant and a cup were established. In 1973, Kolkhoznaya Street, Oparino Village was renamed Tsiunel Street.
