Biography

Born July 15, 1924 in the city of Moscow in the family of an employee. He graduated from 7 classes.

In November 1942 he was drafted into the Red Army by the Yudinsky military registration and enlistment office of the Tatar Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic. Since that time, he participated in battles with the invaders on the North-Western Front . In combat conditions, he mastered the profession of sapper, the entire combat path was part of the 1344th Infantry Regiment of the 319th Infantry Division. He fought on the 1st and 2nd Baltic and 3rd Belorussian fronts.

In offensive battles in July-August 1944 on the territory of the Vitebsk region of Belarus and in Latvia, the Red Army soldier Filatov was constantly among the infantry fighting units, doing passages in wire fences and minefields. Found and neutralized 71 anti-tank and 27 anti-personnel mines. On August 29, at the village of Namkalns, he prevented the demolition of a 15-meter bridge by cutting the lead leading to the charge.

By order of the 319th Infantry Division on September 17, 1944, Red Army soldier Pyotr Gerasimovich was awarded the Order of Glory of the 3rd degree.

From October 1944 until mid-January 1945, the 43rd Army took part in the blockade of the Kurland enemy group. The 319th Infantry Division occupied defenses along the banks of the Neman River. In these winter battles, sapper Filatov repeatedly escorted scouts to the opposite bank of the river. At the end of December, he was awarded the Order of the Red Star for ensuring successful intelligence. In early January, again distinguished himself in the same operation.

On the night of January 10, 1945, Corporal Filatov, acting as a scout group, crossed the ice of the Neman River 19 km south of the city of Taurage, made a corridor in a minefield and a wire fence to penetrate the group into the enemy’s position, thereby contributing to the capture of the “tongue” that gave valuable information.

By order of the 43rd Army on February 7, 1945, Corporal Filatov Pyotr Gerasimovich was awarded the Order of Glory of the 2nd degree.

In March 1945, in battles in East Prussia, during three reconnaissance searches in the area of ​​the village of Koyenen and 13 km south of the city of Raushen, the commander of the sapper platoon detachment, Sergeant Filatov, made passages in minefields and wire fences, neutralized up to 25 anti-tank and anti-personnel mines, which allowed the capture groups to carry out combat missions and take “languages”. Was presented for awarding the Order of the Patriotic War of the 2nd degree , but the commander of the 90th Rifle Corps, the status of the award was changed to the Order of Glory of the 1st degree.

Again distinguished himself in battle during the breakthrough of enemy defenses on the outskirts of the city of Koenigsberg. On the night of April 9, acting as part of a group of sappers, it mined and blew up a bunker at Fort Louise, destroying a garrison of bunkers of up to 20 soldiers.

In the battle on April 16 he was seriously wounded, he met Victory Day in the hospital.

On April 17, he was presented for awarding the Order of Glory of the 1st degree, but soon a decree was issued on awarding this order upon presentation in March 1945 ... And by order of the commander of the 43rd Army he was awarded the Order of the Red Banner .

By decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of April 19, 1945, Sergeant Filatov Pyotr Gerasimovich was awarded the Order of Glory of the 1st degree for exemplary performance of command missions of the command on the front of the struggle against the German invaders and the valor and courage shown at the same time. Became a full gentleman of the Order of Glory.

In 1947, Sergeant Filatov was demobilized.

Returned to Moscow . In the late 1970s, he moved to the Kaluga region . He lived in the village of Fedorovskoye, Zhukovsky district. He worked on the farm "Dawn". He died on January 12, 1980. He was buried in the cemetery of the village of Trubino .

He was awarded the orders of the Red Banner , Red Star , Glory of 3 degrees, medals.
