Geography
The village of Yolkino is located in the southern part of the Voskresensky district, about 5 km east of the city of Voskresensk . Altitude 120 m [3] . Near the village flows the river Medvedka . There are 8 streets in the village, 3 SNT are attributed [4] . The nearest settlement is the working village of Khorlovo .
Title
The name is associated with the non-calendar personal name of Yolka [5] .
History
In 1926, the village was the center of the Yolkinsky village council of the Kolyberovskaya volost of the Kolomensky district of Moscow province [6] .
Since 1929 - a settlement as part of the Voskresensky district of the Kolomna district of the Moscow region, since 1930, in connection with the abolition of the district, - as part of the Voskresensky district of the Moscow region.
Before the municipal reform of 2006, Yolkino was part of the Yolkinsky rural district of the Voskresensky district [7] .
Population
In 1926, 483 people lived in the village (224 men, 259 women), there were 197 peasant farms [6] . According to the 2002 census , 427 people (191 men, 236 women) [8] .
