Georgy Ivanovich Panormov (December 25, 1913 - June 10, 1971) - reconnaissance platoon on foot reconnaissance of the 140th Guards Rifle Regiment of the Guard Sergeant - at the time of presentation for the award of the Order of Glory of the 1st degree.

Biography
Born December 25, 1913 in the city of Tambov in the family of an employee. In 1936-1939 he served in the Red Army . Returning home, he worked in the organs of the NKVD of the Tambov region .
In October 1941, the army was again drafted, from July 1942 he participated in battles with the invaders. He was twice wounded. Since February 1944, he fought as a scout in a foot reconnaissance platoon of the 140th Guards Rifle Regiment of the 47th Guards Rifle Division.
On April 11, 1944, in the area of the village of Dalnik Guards, Private Panormov, led by a group of scouts of 7 people, secretly penetrated the enemy’s position. Scouts attacked the stronghold at an unnamed height, destroyed part of the garrison in battle, and put the rest to flight. Panormov personally exterminated several infantrymen, seized a machine gun and fired from it at enemy infantry, kept the occupied line until the approach of the main forces. By order of the 47th Guards Rifle Division dated May 1, 1944, Private Panormov, Georgy Ivanovich, was awarded the Order of Glory of the 3rd degree.
On March 26, 1944, the Private Panormov Guard, with three fighters under enemy fire, crossed the Yuzhny Bug River near the village of Troitskoye, established communications with neighboring units, and scouted the enemy’s defense system and its fire weapons, thereby contributing to the performance of the regiment's combat mission. By order of the 8th Guards Army on August 14, 1944, Private Panormov, Georgy Ivanovich, was awarded the Order of Glory of the 2nd degree.
In August 1944, to the east of the settlement of Magnushev, during the liquidation of disparate groups of the enemy of the guard, the foreman Panormov and scouts captured 12 soldiers. On August 29, in a battle to expand the bridgehead on the left bank of the Vistula River near the settlement of Lezhenice, more than 10 foot soldiers were exterminated. In defensive battles on the Vistula bridgehead, fulfilling the position of senior reconnaissance observer, he took first place in the division for observing and timely information about enemy behavior. He was presented for awarding the Order of Glory of the 1st degree.
In battles during the Vistula-Oder offensive operation with a group of scouts, he discovered an enemy convoy. Acting as a landing on the armor of self-propelled guns, scouts attacked the convoy, large trophies and up to 200 prisoners were captured. For this battle, the foreman Panormov was awarded the Order of the Red Star .
By decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of March 24, 1945, for the exemplary fulfillment of command assignments at the front of the struggle against the German invaders and the valor and courage of the guard shown, Sergeant Panormov George Ivanovich was awarded the Order of Glory of the 1st degree. He became the full holder of the Order of Glory.
In 1945 he was demobilized. He returned to his hometown. He worked as an accountant at a polyclinic of the Department of Internal Affairs, an accountant-auditor of the financial department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. He lived in the city of Tambov.
Died June 10, 1971. He was buried at the Vozdvizhensky cemetery of Tambov .
