Biography
Born in 1919 in the village of Igumnitsevo (now - Mezhdurechensk district of the Vologda region ). He lived and worked in Leningrad .
In June 1941, he was drafted into the Red Army by the Vyborg District Military Commissariat of the city of Leningrad. Since that time, he participated in battles with the invaders on the Leningrad Front . Later he fought on the Kalinin, Stalingrad and 1st Belorussian fronts, was wounded twice. Member of the CPSU (b) since 1944. By the summer of 1944, Guard Sergeant Rudakov was the driver-mechanic of the SU-76 of the 1001st self-propelled artillery regiment of the 1st Guards Tank Corps.
On June 25, 1944, in the battle for the Black Brody Guard station, Sergeant Rudakov, skillfully maneuvering, helped the crew destroy 2 vehicles with ammunition, 3 guns, a bunker, and more than 30 opponents. At the Kiselevichi railway station, the crew disabled the armored train, but the self-propelled gun was damaged. Under enemy fire, Rudakov evacuated the seriously wounded gun commander and gunner from the battlefield. By order of the troops of the 1st Guards Tank Corps of July 20, 1944, the Guard, Sergeant Rudakov Nikolai Sergeyevich was awarded the Order of Glory of the 3rd degree.
On September 6-9, 1944, in battles to expand the bridgehead on the banks of the Narev River north of the settlement of Serotsk Guard, senior sergeant Rudakov, along with a crew of fire and caterpillars, destroyed 2 field guns, 4 vehicles with ammunition, 6 wagons, and exterminated over 40 enemy soldiers. During the air raids, the self-propelled gun caught fire twice, but Rudakov, despite the danger, extinguished the fire both times and continued to fight. By order of the troops of the 65th Army of September 20, 1944, the Guard, Sergeant Rudakov Nikolai Sergeyevich was awarded the Order of Glory of the 2nd degree.
On October 4-8, 1944, in battles to hold the bridgehead on the right bank of the Narev River south of the city of Guard Pultusk , senior sergeant Rudakov, maneuvering, helped the crew destroy 2 Panther tanks, more than 20 enemy soldiers and officers, and suppress the fire of 5 firing points. When the commander tank "IS-2" was shot down nearby, Rudakov secretly crept up to the damaged car. He sat behind the levers of the tank and led him into cover with the wounded crew. He was presented for awarding the Order of Glory of the 1st degree.
While award documents went to the courts, the fighting continued. On March 9, 1945, Guard Sergeant Rudakov died in battle near the city of Danzig .
By decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of March 24, 1945, for the exemplary performance of command missions at the front of the struggle against the German invaders and the valor and courage of the year of the guard shown, Senior Sergeant Nikolai Sergeyevich Rudakov was awarded the Order of Glory of the 1st degree. He became the full holder of the Order of Glory.
He was awarded the Order of Glory of 3 degrees.
