Biography

He was born on February 23, 1907 in the village of Stolipino (now - in the Zubtsovsky district of the Tver region ). He graduated from grade 4. He worked in the regional industrial complex.

In 1939-1940 he served in the Red Army . Member of the war with Finland in 1939-1940. He fought on the Karelian Isthmus with a machine gunner.

In August 1942 he was again drafted into the army. In the battles of World War II from September 1942. The first battle took place near the village of Belogurovo, 10 km from his own house. As part of the 511th Infantry Regiment of the 239th Infantry Division, he participated in battles near the city of Rzhev. Since September 1942, he was considered missing. According to award documents - again drafted into the army in July 1944 from Belarus. Since the fall of 1944, he fought as a machine gunner of the 1104th Infantry Regiment of the 331rd Infantry Division. Distinguished in battles in East Prussia

On October 19, 1944, in a battle near the village of Dagutshen, the Red Armyman Goryunov and his machine gun destroyed up to 15 opponents and put down the firing point.

By order of the commander of the 331rd Infantry Division dated November 3, 1944, Red Army soldier Ivan Goryunov was awarded the Order of Glory of the 3rd degree.

On January 26, 1945, in the battle for the city and the Letzen railway station, the Red Army soldier Goryunov destroyed more than 10 German soldiers. Being wounded, he continued to remain in service and fire from a machine gun.

By order of the commander of the 331rd Infantry Division of February 18, 1945, Red Armyman Goryunov Ivan Alekseevich was awarded the Order of Glory of the 3rd degree again.

On March 16, 1945, near the village of Deutsch-Tirau, the Red Armyman Goryunov hit two firing points with machine gun fire, and shot down up to 10 opponents.

By order of the commander of the 331rd Infantry Division of April 6, 1945, Red Armyman Goryunov Ivan Alekseevich was awarded the Order of Glory of the 3rd degree for the third time.

At the end of 1945 he was demobilized. He returned to his homeland.

By a decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of March 31, 1956, in order to re-award Goryunov, Ivan Alekseevich was awarded the Orders of Glory of the 2nd and 1st degrees. He became the full holder of the Order of Glory.

He lived in his native village of Stolipino. He worked in the district industrial complex as an eraser. He died on August 26, 1981. He was buried in the cemetery of the city of Zubtsov .

He was awarded the Order of Glory of 3 degrees, medals, including the medal "For Courage".
