Content
Geography
It is located on the right bank of the Selenga River , on the left bank of the Telya channel , in the east of the Kudara steppe . It is located from Kabansk 9 km in a straight line to the north-east and 32 km along the highway through the Selenginsky bridge near the village of Treskovo . The village is located on the 76th km of the 03K-019 Turuntaevo-Treskovo highway, from which the 03K-020 regional highway goes to the village of Zarechye near Baikal to the north of Shergino.

History
On January 15, 1867, the Irkutsk Diocese issued a permit for the construction of a wooden church on a stone foundation in the name of the Mother of God of Kazan in the Sherginsky village [3] . The construction of the church was completed in the summer of 1869. On August 14, 1869, a church parish was created at the Shegin Kazan Church, which included villages: Bykovo, Fofanovo, Gorbovsky, Romanovsky, Kychinskoe, Zhilkino, Pashinskoye [4] .
In August 1885, a parish school opened. The school was located in a church gatehouse. The first teacher was the psalmist of the Kazan Church Joseph Lavrentiev. The law of God was taught by the local priest Alexey Kornakov [5] .
