The men's 800m finals took place on August 15, 2014. From the start, the championship was headed by the favorite of the championship, Pierre Ambroise Boss , who set an impressive personal record of 1.42.53 in the 2014 season - the second result of the world season and the first in Europe. However, the tactics of open battle did not bring him success. Having competently sat behind the Frenchman for the first 600 meters, Adam Kschot , who first became the champion of Europe in the open air, gave out a powerful spurt at the finish line for the first time (before that, his best success was bronze in 2010). The second with a personal record was another Pole, but not the European champion - 2010 Marcin Lewandowski (came to finish 5th), but Arthur Kutsyapsky , who had not had any serious achievements at the international level before. The boss, who did not calculate his strength, finally finished in last place [3] .
