Biography
Nikolai Trushkov was born on May 15, 1924 in the village of Shukshum (now - Tonshaevsky district of the Nizhny Novgorod region ). After graduating from the seven grades of the school and the school of factory factory apprenticeship , he worked first as the head of the reading house, then on the collective farm. In August 1942, Trushkov was called up for service in the Red Army . Since July 1943 - on the fronts of World War II [1] .
By April 1945, Junior Lieutenant Nikolai Trushkov commanded a platoon of machine gunners of the 216th Infantry Regiment of the 76th Infantry Division of the 47th Army of the 1st Belorussian Front . Distinguished himself during the Berlin operation . Trushkov’s platoon took part in battles at the Zeelovsky heights and surrounding Berlin from the north. On April 26, 1945, in the area of the settlement of Seeburg, he broke through German defenses and captured enemy trenches, and the next day he was among the first to enter the city of Bernau , storming the railway station and cutting off the highway, destroying 5 tanks and about 200 enemy soldiers and officers. Trushkov personally destroyed 3 tanks [1] .
By decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of May 31, 1945 for "courage and heroism shown at the front of the struggle against the German invaders," junior lieutenant Nikolai Trushkov was awarded the high title of Hero of the Soviet Union with the awarding of the Order of Lenin and the Gold Star medal number 6480 [ 1] .
In 1946, Trushkov was sacked. He lived first in his homeland, then in Kerch , served in the bodies of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the USSR. He died on February 13, 2003, and was buried in Kerch [1] .
Honorary Citizen of Kerch. He was also awarded the Order of the Patriotic War of the 1st degree and a number of medals, as well as the Ukrainian Order of Bogdan Khmelnitsky [1] .
