Biography

Ivan Trusov was born on September 13, 1911 in the village of Pavlovka, Tambov province [1] . After completing teacher courses, he first worked as a teacher, then as an accountant at the Rasskazovsky cloth factory. In 1933 - 1935 and in 1939 - 1940 he served in the Workers 'and Peasants' Red Army . In June 1941, Trusov was drafted into the army for the third time and sent to the front of the Great Patriotic War. He was twice wounded in battles. He graduated from Berdichev Infantry School at an accelerated rate [2] .

By July 1944, Major Ivan Trusov commanded the infantry battalion of the 240th Infantry Regiment of the 117th Infantry Division of the 69th Army of the 1st Belorussian Front . He distinguished himself during the liberation of Poland . On July 27, 1944, Trusov’s battalion crossed the Vistula River near the city of Kazimierz and seized a bridgehead on its shore, after which it repelled German counterattacks before the main forces crossed. On the night of July 29-30, 1944, the battalion broke into the village of Wojszyn and took an active part in its liberation, destroying 10 machine guns and more than 200 enemy soldiers and officers, capturing 10 artillery pieces, 2 warehouses, 11 machine guns, 4 mortars [ 2] .

By decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of February 27, 1945 for "courage and heroism shown at the front of the struggle against the German invaders," Major Ivan Trusov was awarded the high title of Hero of the Soviet Union with the award of the Order of Lenin and the Gold Star medal number 7457 [2 ] .

In subsequent battles near Poznan, Trusov was again seriously wounded and lost his right arm. In 1947, he was sacked. He lived and worked first in Rasskazovo, then in Voronezh . He died on August 6, 1970, and was buried in the Comintern cemetery of Voronezh [2] .

He was also awarded two orders of the Red Banner , orders of Alexander Nevsky , World War 1 degree and the Red Star , a number of medals [2] .

In honor of Trusov, a school is named.

By the decision of the Executive Committee of the Tambov Regional Council dated 11.2.1975 No. 91, it was merged with the village of Aleksandrovka and excluded from the list of settlements in the region.
