Biography

Born in 1909 in the village of Nizhny Kularki (now - Sretensky district of the Transbaikal Territory ). He graduated from 7 classes. He worked on the farm to them. Pogadayev in his village, since 1936 - the foreman.

June 24, 1941 he was drafted into the Red Army by the Ust-Karsky district military enlistment office of the Chita region . In the army since September 1941. He fought on the Western, 2nd and 3rd Belorussian fronts. Member of the CPSU since 1943. By August 1944, Junior Sergeant Elin commanded the rifle division of the 440th Infantry Regiment of the 64th Infantry Division.

On August 24, 1944, in the area of ​​the settlement of Snyadovo, junior sergeant Yelin with a detachment, while performing the task of reconnaissance of the front line of the enemy’s defense , discovered a mortar battery and 3 machine gun points, which were then covered with artillery fire. When repelling 3 enemy counterattacks, it destroyed more than 10 enemy soldiers and officers.

By order of September 20, 1944, Junior Sergeant Yelin Georgy Konstantinovich was awarded the Order of Glory of the 3rd degree.

On January 23, 1945, in the battle near the settlement of Sukh, the assistant commander of the mortar platoon, Senior Sergeant Elin, hit up to 10 opponents and a machine gun.

By order of March 4, 1945, Senior Sergeant Elin Georgy Konstantinovich was awarded the Order of Glory of the 2nd degree.

On April 18, 1945, during the battles for the capture of the village of Ushetsin, Senior Sergeant Elin with the well-aimed fire of his mortar, supporting the advancing infantry, crushed two enemy machine-gun points. Skillfully maneuvering and skillfully choosing firing positions for his mortar, he destroyed up to 40 opponents, which each time contributed to the successful repulsion of enemy attacks.

On the same day, April 18, he died in battle. He was buried on the southern outskirts of Zibingen .

By decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of May 15, 1946, for the exemplary performance of command assignments in battles with invaders, Senior Sergeant Elin Georgy Konstantinovich was awarded the Order of Glory of the 1st degree. He became the full holder of the Order of Glory.

He was awarded the Order of the Red Star , Glory of 3 degrees, a medal.

The name Elina is immortalized in the memorial to the fallen in the village of Nizhny Kularki.
