Biography
Born in 1917 in the village of Deryabka (now - Anninsky District, Voronezh Region ). He worked on the farm. According to others, he lived and worked in the city of Moscow .
In 1941 he was drafted into the Red Army by the Dzerzhinsk District Military Commissariat of the city of Moscow . The combat path began as part of the 466th sapper battalion of the 50th army on the Bryansk front . Fought in the environment, was considered missing. By the beginning of 1944, he was the commander of the 61st separate guards sapper battalion of the 52nd Guards Rifle Division. Member of the CPSU (b) since 1944.
On January 19, 1944, in an offensive west of the city of Novosokolniki of the Guard, junior sergeant Bulgakov, along with his subordinates, made passes through the enemy’s wire fence and forest blockage and conducted rifle units through them. By an order dated January 24, 1944, the junior sergeant Bulgakov Sergei Nikiforovich was awarded the Order of Glory of the 3rd degree.
On June 5, 1944, the senior sergeant Bulgakov with the detachment of the guard, providing the reconnaissance team to seize the “tongue” north-west of the Pushkinsky Gory village, made passes in a minefield and wire fence, then participated in a hand-to-hand fight with the enemy. On the night of September 12, 1944, the guard sergeant Bulgakov along with his subordinates reconnoitered the place for the construction of a bridge and the crossing of tanks across the Väike-Emajõgi river to the north of the town of Valka, provided the tanks with movement. He was presented to the award of the Order of Glory .
On November 24, 1944, guards foreman Bulgakov died in battle in the area of the settlement Mudojmnieskas (Latvia).
By decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of March 24, 1945, Sergeant Bulgakov Sergei Nikiforovich was awarded the Order of Glory of the 1st Degree for exemplary performance of the tasks of the command in battles with the invaders of the Guard. Became a full gentleman of the Order of Glory.
He was awarded the Order of the Patriotic War , 2nd degree, Red Star , Glory 3 degrees.
