Biography

Born in 1907 in the city of Warsaw in the family of a railway worker. Soon, his family moved to the station Novozybkovo Polesskaya railway, where his father went to work as a conductor-brakes. In 1919, his father died his mother was left with three children in her arms. For a teenager began working life: chopped wood for the boiler, was a laborer, carried the telegrams. At the age of 16 he entered the repair working distance at the station Novozybkovo. Then he worked in the same hammerworkers in the forge, an assistant mechanic in the workshop distance. At the same time he studied at night school.

In 1935 he graduated from the Leningrad Institute of Railway Engineers. Partyorg on the course was Beshchev Boris Pavlovich. In the prewar years, he passed all steps of the mover from the park attendant to the head of the Petrozavodsk branch of the movement.

From the beginning of the Great Patriotic War until the end of 1944, he performed the most complicated work of the head of the traffic service and first deputy head of the Kirov railway. More precisely, only the northern section of the highway acted. This is the most dangerous and responsible part of the road for the removal of military cargo arriving by sea from allies to Murmansk, headed by A.V. Okhremchik. After the liberation of Petrozavodsk in the summer of 1944, he was directing the restoration of the railway sector and on July 16 the first train arrived here. As an experienced specialist, in early 1945, he was appointed head of the North-West Central Directorate of the NKPS movement, where he worked together with Boris Pavlovich Beshchev, the future Minister of Railways. With the formation of districts, Arkady Vasilyevich became deputy chief of the North-Western District of railways.

In May 1950, A.V. Okhremchik was appointed head of the Southeastern Railway, the state of which at that time was simply critical. The road farm was seriously damaged during the war, there was an acute shortage of personnel from leading professions, the train schedule was not respected, the level of work was lower than the pre-war level. The situation was critical. It came to the point that the situation on the highway was discussed at a meeting of the USSR Council of Ministers. Taking the road in critical condition for two years of hard work brought the dog from the laggards. In 1952, the South-East has successfully implemented the state transportation plan,

In May 1953, he was appointed head of the V. Kuibyshev railroad, since 1954, the Kuibyshev railroad. Supervised the road at a difficult time. Since 1956, by decision of the USSR Council of Ministers, the Moscow -Baikal highway was electrified. A thousand kilometers of this route lay within the boundaries of Kuybyshev. It was a great art to combine the interests of the movement and the offensive from the east of construction and energy-assembling trains, to reduce the carrying capacity of the road, a grandiose reconstruction of the main electrified road was carried out.

By decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of August 1, 1959, for outstanding achievements in the development of rail transport, Arkady Vasilyevich Okhremchik was awarded the title Hero of Socialist Labor with the award of the Order of Lenin and the Hammer and Sickle gold medal.

A few days after the publication of the Decree, he was transferred to a new position - the head of the Southeast Road and moved to the city of Voronezh. The secondary appointment to the South-East turned out to be interesting and promising. Here electrification was just beginning, and the “new” chief of the road had a chance to repeat everything that was done on Kuybyshevskaya. By the 100th anniversary of the road A.V. Okhremchik led the highway updated, on its flag the Order of the Red Banner of Labor appeared . For more than twelve years he successfully led the Southeastern Railway.

In 1971 he was sent to work under the auspices of the Council for Mutual Economic Assistance in the city of Prague, where he worked in the representative office of the Ministry of Railways of the USSR.

He died on August 30, 1981, and was buried in the Kominternovsky cemetery of the city of Voronezh.

He was awarded three Orders of Lenin , three Orders of the Red Banner of Labor , two Orders of Honor, and medals; sign "Honorary railroad."
