Biography
Born on June 29, 1922 in the village of Bolshoi Chubalovo, Pavlovsky District, Nizhny Novgorod Region . He graduated from grade 4. He worked on a collective farm.
June 23, 1941 was drafted into the Red Army and sent ... to the Far East. He began his service at the 233rd separate border outpost. Only in October 1942 did Sergeant Rodionov leave for the army on the Bryansk Front . In one of the first battles he was seriously wounded, after the hospital he was commissioned and returned home.
He worked on a collective farm. At the beginning of 1943, he was sent through the district military enlistment office to the Gorky Medical Instrument Plant in the village of Tumbotino. He worked as a fireman and at the same time taught girls military affairs. In the spring of the same year, he accompanied from a military registration and enlistment office a group mobilized to the city of Gorky at a collection point. Here he met his former commander and persuaded him to take him to the front. He again entered the battle with the invaders on the Kalinin front near the city of Velikiye Luki.
In the summer of 1943, as part of the 17th Guards Tank Brigade, he participated in the battles for the liberation of the Oryol Region , as the machine gunner accompanied the tanks going on the offensive. July 13 in a battle near the villages of Voskresenskoye and Evtekhovo took the place of the dead gunner-radio operator of the T-34 tank. Together with the crew, he destroyed the anti-tank gun with the calculation, a machine gun nest, and broke the tank. When the T-34 was shot down, being wounded, it managed to leave the burning machine. The infantrymen picked him up in an unconscious state and sent him to the rear. After the battle, the crew was buried in a mass grave, and a funeral left for their homeland.
Returning to the front after the hospital, he fought as part of the 1255th Infantry Regiment of the 379th Infantry Division as an assistant platoon commander, machine gun commander, then division intelligence officer.
On January 31, 1944, in the battle for the village of Andronovka, Senior Sergeant Rodionov was the first to enter the enemy’s trench and exterminate several enemy soldiers.
By order of the commander of the 379th Infantry Division of February 7, 1944, Senior Sergeant Rodionov Pavel Ivanovich was awarded the Order of Glory of the 3rd degree.
On February 26, 1944, during the pursuit of the enemy, the machine-gun commander, Senior Sergeant Rodionov Pavel Ivanovich burst into the village of Alushkino with his calculation and hit many opponents with machine-gun fire. On March 1, in the battle for the village, Kuzmino put down the enemy firing point, ensuring the successful operations of the rifle division.
By order of the 10th Guards Army on April 11, 1944, Senior Sergeant Rodionov Pavel Ivanovich was awarded the Order of Glory of the 2nd degree.
Soon he was transferred to the commander of the 433rd separate reconnaissance company of the 379th rifle division. Member of the CPSU / CPSU since 1944.
On July 20, 1944, near the settlement of Izopolie, Senior Sergeant Rodionov, acting with subordinates in front of the attacking shooters, found an ambush. With automatic fire and grenades, the scouts destroyed the enemy, captured 3 machine guns, several machine guns and captured 2 opponents.
By decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of March 24, 1945, for sergeant, courage and fearlessness, shown in battles with enemy invaders, Senior Sergeant Pavel Rodionov was awarded the Order of Glory of the 1st degree. He became the full holder of the Order of Glory.
In 1946, the foreman Rodionov was demobilized. He returned to his homeland in the village of Bolshoi Chubalovo, worked on a collective farm. In 1954, he moved with his whole family to the working village of Tumbotino and entered work as a carriage driver at the 12 Years of the October factory. In recent years, before retiring, he worked as the head of the fire department. In 1982 he went on a well-deserved rest.
He lived in the village of Tumbotino. Died April 9, 1996. He was buried in the cemetery of the village of Tumbotino.
He was awarded the orders of the Patriotic War of the 1st degree, Glory of 3 degrees, medals.
