Biography
He was born on August 25, 1925 in the village of Baturin, a village in the Bakhmach district of the Chernihiv region . Ukrainian. Finished school. In the army since 1943.
Member of the Great Patriotic War since July 1943. He was the scout of the mortar company, and then the gunner of the mortar of the 641st infantry regiment. He fought on the 1st and 2nd Belorussian fronts. He participated in the liberation of the Left-Bank Ukraine and Belarus, in Lublin-Brest, Warsaw-Poznan, East Pomeranian and Berlin operations.
In the battles of September 10-15, 1944, in the area of Slupno settlement, the scout of the mortar company V. G. Butok discovered 7 machine gun points and anti-aircraft guns of the enemy, which were then suppressed by mortar fire. In subsequent battles, he defeated 5 opponents from personal weapons, captured two enemy soldiers and an officer.
October 14, 1944 was awarded the Order of Glory of the 3rd degree.
On January 26-29, 1945, the mortar gunner V. G. Butok, as part of the calculation east of the village of Rasmushausen, incapacitated the mortar and two machine guns, and exterminated up to 10 enemy soldiers. In a night battle on February 2, 1945, 22 km northeast of the city of Bydgoszcz, a machine gun was suppressed from a mortar, destroyed and scattered by the enemy infantry platoon.
On February 28, 1945 he was awarded the Order of Glory of the 2nd degree.
On April 20, 1945, while breaking through the enemy’s defenses and forcing the Oder River 10 km southwest of the city of Stettin, mortar gunner VG Budok put down 8 firing points and hit several opponents. Reflecting the enemy counterattacks on the left bank of the Oder River, he destroyed many enemy soldiers and officers.
For courage and heroism shown in the battles, by the Decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of June 29, 1945, Private Butok Vladimir Georgievich was awarded the Order of Glory of the 1st degree.
In 1945, Private V.G. Butok was discharged. He returned to his homeland. In 1953 he graduated from the Kiev Veterinary Institute. He worked as the chief veterinarian in the village of Peski, Bakhmach district, Chernihiv region . He died on December 31, 1970.
He was awarded 2 Orders of the Red Star , Orders of Glory of the 1st, 2nd and 3rd degree, medals.
