Published since 1969. The initiator of the creation of the informational and methodological bulletin of the Ukrainian Society for the Protection of Monuments of History and Culture “Monuments of Ukraine” (Rus. “Monuments of Ukraine”, now the journal “Memories of Ukraine”) was academician of the Ukrainian SSR P.T. Tronko .
Since 1988, the magazine has been published under the name "Monuments of Ukraine". Since 1989 - a popular science illustrated magazine with the participation of the Ukrainian Cultural Foundation and the Institute of Ukrainian Archeography and Source Studies M. Grushevskogo NAS of Ukraine .
Since 1997, the publisher is the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine .
Under the current name is the publication of the National Newspaper and Journal Publishing House .
