Biography
Born April 15, 1915 in the village of Bessonovka (now the district center of the Penza region ). He graduated from grade 4. He worked on a collective farm.
In 1937 he was drafted into the Red Army . He participated in the Soviet-Finnish war of 1939-1940. At the front in World War II since July 1941. By the fall of 1943, Sergeant Maksyushin fought on foot in the 1120th Infantry Regiment of the 333rd Infantry Division, and commanded a detachment.
On November 12, 1943, sergeant Maksyushin, as part of a group, crossed the Dnieper River north of the Belenky farm, one of the first to break into the enemy’s trench, destroy three opponents, and disable the enemy’s machine gun.
By order of December 11, 1943, Sergeant Maksyushin Ivan Fedorovich was awarded the Order of Glory of the 3rd degree.
On the night of January 24, 1944, in the area southwest of the city of Zaporozhye, Sergeant Maksyushin, at the head of a group of 5 people, penetrated deep into the enemy’s defense, captured the “tongue”, and destroyed 4 fascists.
By order of February 4, 1944, Sergeant Maksyushin Ivan Fedorovich was awarded the Order of Glory of the 2nd degree.
On the night of February 12, 1944, in the area west of the city of Nikopol, Sergeant Maksyushin, with his squad, crossed the Bazavluk River and seized the bridgehead. In the battle for his retention, the group repelled 13 enemy counterattacks, which contributed to the fulfillment of the combat mission. In this battle he was seriously injured. According to the 419th medical battalion of the 333rd Infantry Division, he was considered dead.
By decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of September 13, 1944, Sergeant Maksyushin Ivan Fedorovich was awarded the Order of Glory of the 1st degree for exemplary performance of command assignments in battles with German-enemy invaders. He became the full holder of the Order of Glory.
The reward was not given to the intelligence officer. In 1945, Sergeant Maksyushin was demobilized. He returned to his native village. He worked as a machine operator on a collective farm. Only 20 years later, in 1964, the front-line soldier was awarded the last battle order - Glories of the 1st degree. He died on October 5, 1966.
He was awarded two Orders of the Red Banner , Orders of Glory of 3 degrees, medals.
