Biography

He was born on May 28, 1924 in a peasant family in the village of Kotikha, Rodnikovsky District, Ivanovo Region . Since childhood, he worked in the field, helped parents, in the family it was 11 people. He graduated from a seven-year rural school in the village of Parskoye, continued his studies at the Ivanovo Electromechanical College. In 1941 he returned home, worked on a collective farm.

In 1942 he was drafted into the Red Army . In the spare regiment received the specialty of a tank driver. He fought on the North Caucasus Front as part of the 244th separate tank regiment, on the American M3 General Lee tank. At the end of July 1943, in a battle for the Crimean village of the Krasnodar Territory, he was seriously wounded, the only one of the crew miraculously survived. After the hospital, he didn鈥檛 return to the front, the doctors didn鈥檛 let him in - a splinter remained in his lung. Another year he served in the internal troops, was discharged in the spring of 1945, shortly before the Victory.

He returned home and began to work on the collective farm as an ordinary collective farmer, and soon became the foreman of the field crop brigade, then an agronomist. In 1953 he was elected chairman of the Renaissance collective farm of the Rodikovsky district and for 27 years he was in charge of the farm.

Under his leadership, the collective farm "Renaissance" has become one of the foremost economies in the region. If in 1953 the grain yield was 7.1 centners, then in 1960 it was 13.1. From year to year, milk yields and potato crops grew. The achievements of chemistry were widely used, mineral fertilizers were used, they began to turn to the collective farm for experience. In 1970, a particularly large grain crop was harvested on the collective farm fields - 32.5 centners per hectare. High rates were in general for the five-year period.

By a decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of April 8, 1971, for outstanding achievements in the development of agricultural production and the implementation of the 8th five-year plan for the sale of agricultural and livestock products to the state, Staroverov Konstantin Iosifovich was awarded the title Hero of Socialist Labor with the award of the Order of Lenin and the Sickle and Gold Medal The hammer".

In subsequent years, continued economic growth of the collective farm. A grain drying and sorting complex with a grain warehouse of 800 tons, a potato storage of 500 tons, a garage, a warehouse for mineral fertilizers were built. Only in 1977, the economy received an income of more than a million rubles. In 1979, the chairman of the collective farm went on a well-deserved rest.

He lived in the village of Kotikha, Rodnikovsky district. Died April 29, 1997. He was buried in the cemetery of the village of Parskoe.

He was awarded the Order of Lenin , medals.
