Biography
Born on July 7, 1915 in the village of Karaulovka, Katav-Ivanovo District, Chelyabinsk Region . In 1937 he was drafted into the Red Army . Member of the liberation campaign in Western Belarus in 1939. In 1940 he returned home, again worked as a turner at a cement plant in the city of Katav-Ivanovsk.
In 1941 he was again drafted into the army. In battles since April 1942, he fought on the Western, 2nd and 4th Ukrainian fronts. He fought in the 500th separate machine gun and artillery battalion of the 159th Dniester Red Banner Order of Bogdan Khmelnitsky field fortified area. Since the spring of 1943, the fortified area occupied a defensive line west of the city of Tula . In February 1944, he participated in battles near the village of Shenderovka, which was a defense center for the internal contour of the Korsun-Shevchenkovsky ring surrounding the enemy group. For courage and heroism awarded the medal "For Courage".
In March 1944, the 159th fortified area became part of the 40th army, which conducted offensive battles. On April 9, the battalion of the fortified area in which Spitsyn fought crossed the border with Romania.
On April 28, 1944, in the battle for the settlement of Zhukhal, one of the first to break into the village, threw German trenches with grenades, and conducting automatic fire, destroyed about ten enemy soldiers and officers. Took out from the battlefield the wounded commander of the 2nd company of the senior lieutenant Gundin.
By order of the troops of the 104th Rifle Corps of April 8, 1944, he was awarded the Order of Glory of the 3rd degree.
In January 1945, the 159th fortified area became part of the 18th army of the 4th Ukrainian Front. March 3, 1945 near the village of Vitanova acted as part of an intelligence group. Among the first to engage in battle with the enemy’s reconnaissance patrol, he captured 1 Nazi officer, who provided valuable information.
By order of the 18th Army on March 18, 1945 he was awarded the Order of Glory of the 2nd degree.
From mid-April 1945, the 159th fortified area fought in Slovakia. On April 11, in a battle for a height of 861.0 near the city of Chadz, Sergeant Spitsyn secretly crawled to an enemy sniper, which interfered with the advancement of our units, destroyed him. Moving forward, he destroyed two more enemy infantry, and captured one. He distinguished himself in subsequent battles. This is evidenced by the lines from the award sheet: “On April 15, Senior Sergeant Spitsyn, with scouts Navakaev and Musienko, penetrated the enemy rear, found a warehouse with ammunition and set it on fire. A significant number of faustpatrons were destroyed. ”
In June 1945 he participated in the Victory Parade in the city of Moscow as part of the combined regiment of the 4th Ukrainian Front. In 1945 he was demobilized. He returned to his homeland.
By decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of May 15, 1946, for the exemplary execution of command assignments in battles with German-enemy invaders, Senior Sergeant Alexander Spitsyn was awarded the Order of Glory of the 1st degree. He became the full holder of the Order of Glory.
He worked at the South Ural Railway, then at the Ust-Katavsky Car-Building Plant as an auxiliary worker, a watchman. He lived in the city of Katav-Ivanovsk .
Died July 29, 1984.
