Biography

He was born on October 26, 1904 in the village of Kozhanovka (now - Chomutovsky district, Kursk region ). He graduated from grade 4. He worked on a collective farm, and since 1926, a miner in the mines of Donbass.

In 1941 he was drafted into the Red Army . In the battles of World War II from September of the same year. He fought in combat engineer units near Moscow and Voronezh, and in the spring of 1943 - as part of the 28th separate guard engineer battalion of the 25th guards rifle division. It was the department in which Asmolov was who mined the approaches to the positions of the platoon of the guard Lieutenant Shironin . Member of the CPSU / CPSU since 1943.

On February 5, 1944, in the area of ​​the village of Novomirgorod, tanks of the 14th Panzer Division of the enemy broke through to the surrounded Korsun-Shevchenko group. Guards, the Red Army soldier Asmolov, fulfilling the order, secretly made his way to the mined bridge, which remained behind enemy lines. On the night of March 21, 1945, Sergeant Asmolov, head of the squad, along with the shooters, was one of the first to cross the Gron River. He participated in the battles for the bridgehead. During the development of the offensive, he led the barrage groups. Acting on the route of Garam-Parkan sappers neutralized hundreds of mines, Asmolov personally removed 15 anti-personnel mines.
