Mikhail Maktinovich (June 13, 1921 - February 5, 1994) - Soviet soldier, member of the Great Patriotic War, full gentleman of the Order of Glory, commander of the 26th separate flamethrower battalion sergeant.

Biography
Born on June 13, 1921 in the village of Karlino, Krasnoslobodsky district, Penza province [1] . He worked on the farm.
In 1941 he was drafted into the Red Army . On the front in the Great Patriotic War from June 1941. He fought anti-aircraft gunner, then airborne, was wounded. After the hospital took courses flamethrowers . Returning to the front, he was enrolled in the 26th separate flamethrower battalion. As a flamethrower, I received the baptism of fire in battles in the North Caucasus. As part of the battalion went to the end vyony.
Flamethrowers, on the eve of the offensive, secretly put their weapons near enemy positions. Since the beginning of the battle, when the infantry went on the attack, streams of flame destroyed the enemy firing points. If there was not enough range of flamethrowers, automatic weapons and grenades were used. That is how, with grenades, in Novorossiysk, Martynov destroyed one of the bunkers. Then there were battles for the Crimea, the liberation of Poland and Czechoslovakia .
On October 2, 1944, to the south of the city of Sanok, Sergeant Martynov and his unit repulsed the enemy’s counterattack, disabling about 10 enemy soldiers. During the reconnaissance, Martynov unexpectedly ran into a group of enemy soldiers, partially destroyed and dispersed it with fire from a machine gun.
By order of November 3, 1944, Sergeant Martynov Mikhail Maksimovich was awarded the Order of Glory of the 3rd degree.
On December 18, 1944, at the city of Kosice, while repelling a counterattack, Martynov struck down 6 enemy soldiers, was wounded, but continued to perform a combat mission.
By order of January 10, 1945, Sergeant Martynov Mikhail Maksimovich was awarded the Order of Glory of the 2nd degree.
In early May 1945, Sergeant Martynov, acting at the head of the group, knocked out the enemy from a height near the Bombra settlement, put down 2 machine guns and struck down 8 enemy soldiers. Frontline path finished in the city of Prague.
By decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of May 15, 1946 for exceptional courage, bravery and fearlessness in battles with enemy invaders, sergeant Mikhail Maximov was awarded the Order of Glory of the 1st degree. Became a full gentleman of the Order of Glory.
In 1946 he was demobilized. Returned home. He worked on the farm. Recent years he lived in the city of Krasnoslobodsk. He died on February 5, 1994.
He was awarded the Order of the Patriotic War, 1 st degree, Glory 3 degrees, medals, including two medals "For Courage".
Memorial
