Biography
She was born on September 17, 1976 in Celle, Lower Saxony - Germany, in a family of Yezidi Kurds from the sheikhs who immigrated from Turkey . Received a medical education.
At the age of 22 she was elected a member of the European Parliament from the Party of Democratic Socialism , then representing her successor, the Party of the Left (1999-2009). She was a member of the European Union of the Left / Left Greens of the North , she worked in the European Parliament's Committee on Culture, Education and the Media.
The party was a member of the Commission on Women's Rights and Equality. She was the coordinator for the promotion and cooperation of the Turkish delegation, as well as the deputy head, against racism and for migrants.
In 2012, she was detained at the Istanbul airport while trying to smuggle a batch of B-1 vitamins for Kurdish prisoners in Turkish prisons and was deported to Germany. In 2014 she returned to Turkey, settled in Diyarbakir . In the same year, she was elected to the Turkish Parliament (Grand National Assembly) from Diyarbakir according to the list of the Democratic Party of Nations . Feleknas Uca and Ali Atalan were the first Yezidis elected to the Turkish Parliament [2] .
