Biography

Born on June 16, 1916 in the village of Kochkurovo (now the center of Kochkurovsky district of Mordovia ). Mordvin. He worked as an mechanic on a collective farm.

In the fall of 1940 he was drafted into the Red Army . In the training regiment received a specialty mortar. In the spring of 1941, at his own request, he was sent to the training motor battalion. I wanted to get the peaceful profession needed in my village, but the war prevented it.

The first battle took place in June 1941 near the western border in Lithuania. With a group of fighters with fights, he left the encirclement. After reaching his own, he was credited to the mortar crew with a mines carrier, then a third number, a gunner. He fought on the North-Western Front . In August 1942, by order of the troops of the 1st Shock Army for courage and dedication in the battles of Staraya Russa and Novgorod, he was awarded the Medal For Courage. In 1942 he joined the CPSU / CPSU.

In the spring of 1943, Sergeant Shubnikov was appointed commander of the mortar crew in the 287th Infantry Regiment of the 51st Infantry Division. As part of this unit went to the end of the war. He fought on the 1st Baltic and 3rd Belorussian fronts. With the beginning of the Belarusian operation after breaking through the enemy’s defense, the division launched active military operations in the Vitebsk direction.

The calculation of senior sergeant Shubnikov, advancing in the battle formations of the infantry, destroyed or crushed about a dozen enemy firing points. On June 24, in a battle for a stronghold near the village of Grebentsy, he destroyed the enemy firing point. On June 25, an enemy mortar was crushed by the village of Zalesye. On July 30, in a battle 55 km southwest of the city of Daugavpils, the anti-tank gun, machine gun, and over 10 enemy soldiers and officers were disabled.

By order of the 22nd Guards Rifle Corps dated August 26, 1944, Senior Sergeant Shubnikov Kirill Stepanovich was awarded the Order of Glory of the 3rd degree.

In battles in the autumn of 1944, according to the commander of the 287th Infantry Regiment, Senior Sergeant Shubnikov showed exceptional courage and dedication. Presenting him for the award, the commander wrote: “On October 5-6, 1944, during the assault on strongholds in the area of ​​Grazhi, Gumoskoi, Zubreli and Papile, Comrade Shubnikov, despite strong artillery, mortar and machine gun fire, acted in battle formations of infantry and fire from his mortar was supported by attacking units, crushed several enemy firing points and exterminated at least 15 enemy soldiers. In this battle comrade "Shubnikov was shell-shocked, but did not leave the battlefield until the combat mission was fully completed."

By order of the troops of the 6th Guards Army of October 19, 1944, Senior Sergeant Shubnikov Kirill Stepanovich was awarded the Order of Glory of the 2nd degree.

In February and March 1945, the 51st Infantry Division took part in the defeat of the East Prussian enemy group.

Senior Sergeant Shubnikov excelled in these battles. On February 23, in a battle for a stronghold, the Tolksdorf station, Shubnikov’s crew, operating in infantry fighting formations, destroyed 2 easel machine guns with crews and dozens of enemy soldiers. On March 2, in the battle for the village of Schönau, the calculation commander personally spotted two enemy snipers and with accurate shots from the mortar destroyed them. March 4 in the battle for the village of Strauben destroyed a light machine gun with the calculation and more than 15 enemy soldiers. With his skillful, courageous actions, Comrade Shubnikov ensured the successful mastery of these settlements.

By decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of April 19, 1945, for the exceptional courage, courage and fearlessness shown in battles with enemy invaders, Senior Sergeant Shubnikov Kirill Stepanovich was awarded the Order of Glory of the 1st degree. He became the full holder of the Order of Glory.

In the spring of 1946 he was demobilized. He returned to his homeland. He worked as the mechanic of the collective farm thresher, then the engineer of the collective farm power station. Only 20 years later, in 1965, the veteran was awarded the last battle order - Glories of the 1st degree. For many years before retiring, he worked as the head of a sawmill on the Bolshevik collective farm. He lived in the village of Kochkurovo. He died on March 1, 1993.

He was awarded the orders of the Patriotic War of the 1st degree, Glories of 3 degrees, medals, of which two “For Courage”; sign "Excellent Agricultural"

A patriotic search squad has been created in the district, which bears the name of Kirill Stepanovich Shubnikov. The detachment was already on a search expedition in the Kaluga region .
