Biography
Born on October 27, 1922 in the village of Hvoroshchevka, Skopinsky district, Ryazan region . He graduated from grade 4. He worked on a collective farm in the Tula region .
In 1941 he was drafted into the Red Army . On the fronts of World War II from January 1943. He fought in the intelligence of the 696th Infantry Regiment of the 383rd Infantry Division. He distinguished himself in the battles for the liberation of Crimea.
On April 10, 1944, in a battle near the city of Kerch, the Red Army Stallion penetrated the rear of the enemy, captured 2 soldiers, delivered valuable information about the enemy. He was presented for awarding the Order of Glory .
In one of the battles, when the enemy was expelled from the Kerch Peninsula, the Red Army Zherebtsov was the first to burst into the enemy’s trench, destroyed machine guns and 2 opponents with grenades, ensuring a successful outcome of the battle.
By an order of May 2, 1944, Red Army soldier Pyotr Nikolayevich Zherebtsov was awarded the Order of Glory of the 3rd degree.
By order of June 5, 1944, the Red Army soldier Pyotr Nikolaevich Zherebtsov was awarded the Order of Glory of the 2nd degree.
After the liberation of the Crimean peninsula, the division in which the reconnaissance stallion fought was transferred to the 2nd Belorussian Front . He participated in the battles for the liberation of Poland , forced the Oder .
On January 14, 1945, in the area of the city of Zvolen, the Red Army Zherebtsov as part of the group scouted the enemy’s defense system and delivered valuable data. In battles during the pursuit of the enemy from the Vistula to the Oder, he conducted active reconnaissance, exterminated up to 20 enemy soldiers. On February 5, one of the first to cross the Oder River with scouts. On the bridgehead, reflecting a counterattack, he hit 7 opponents.
By a decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of April 6, 1945, for the exceptional courage, courage and fearlessness shown in battles with enemy invaders, Red Army soldier Pyotr Nikolayev was awarded the Order of Glory of the 1st degree. He became the full holder of the Order of Glory.
In 1946, the foreman of the Stallions was demobilized.
He came to live in the Stupinsky district of the Moscow region , to his wife’s homeland. At first, he worked as the foreman of SMU-28 Glavmosstroy. From April 1948 until his retirement he worked at Plant 150, OAO Stupinsky Metallurgical Plant, first as a laborer and then as a foundry worker in workshop No. 41. In 1973 he went on a well-deserved rest.
He lived in the city of Stupino. Honorary Citizen of Stupino. He died on January 20, 2002.
He was awarded the orders of the Patriotic War of the 1st and 2nd degree, Glories of 3 degrees, medals.
