Biography
Born on April 18, 1916 in the village of Fonovka (now Petrovsky District, Tambov Region ). He worked on the collective farm, since 1940 - at a factory in Moscow . In November 1941, the plant was evacuated to the city of Kambark, Udmurtia .
In the Red Army from 1937 to 1940 and from 1942. In the battles of World War II from November 1942. He fought on the Kalinin and the 1st Baltic fronts. Especially distinguished during the fighting for the liberation of Belarus and Lithuania.
The commander of the motorized rifle-machine-gun battalion of the 10th Separate Guards Tank Brigade of the Guard, Senior Sergeant Surkov in June 1944, with the liquidation of the enemy's surrounded grouping near the village of Verkhovye on the armor of the tank with subordinates, broke into the enemy’s location.
