Paul Zinner was born in Budapest, Austria-Hungary. He studied literature and philosophy at the University of Vienna . For some time he was engaged in journalism. Since 1919, he began working in the film industry as a director, producer and screenwriter. In 1924, he offered the lead role in his film " Nude, " by Elizabeth Bergner . They became partners, and after the persecution of Jews in Nazi Germany began, they fled together from Vienna to London, where they got married. Despite Zinner's suspicions of homosexuality, the union was successful. In 1940, the couple emigrated to the United States, where Zinner worked on Broadway. After the end of World War II, Zinner and his wife returned to England, where Zinner made a number of films - operas. Paul Zinner died on June 22, 1972 in London at the age of 82.
