Author

Abu Avana traveled around Khorasan , Iraq , Hijaz , Yemen , Sham , the Arabian Peninsula , Fars , Isfahan and Egypt, collecting and studying hadiths. The disciples of Abu Avana al-Isfaraini were Abu Ali al-Naisaburi , Ibn Adi and al-Tabarani . He was the first to distribute the Shafi'i madhhab in Isfarain ( Esferayen ), taking it from al-Muzani and ar-Rabi ibn Suleiman (students of Imam al-Shafi'i).

Book Description

The Musnad of Abu Avana is redesigned in the manner of other musnads, Sahih Muslim ibn al-Hajjaj . In addition to the hadiths from Muslim, the collection also contains a small number of hadiths from Abu Avana himself [1] . This explains the presence in this “Musnad” of not only reliable (sahih), but also good (hasan) and even weak (daif) hadiths [2] .
