Biography
On May 23, 1971, he was ordained priest by Bishop Methodius Stratiev in Sofia (Bulgaria).
In 1980-1982 he studied at the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome , where he studied canon law . Since 1982 he was a parish priest in the Cathedral of the Assumption of the Virgin in Sofia.
Since December 18, 1993 - Coadjutor of the Apostolic Exarch Sofia. He was appointed on December 18, 1993, and on January 6, 1994, at the Cathedral of St. Peter in Rome, Pope John Paul II was ordained a titular bishop of Briula.
Since September 5, 1995 - Apostolic Exarch of Sofia, head of the Bulgarian Greek Catholic Church. Since 1995 - Chairman of the Conference of Catholic Bishops of Bulgaria and is chairman of its committees: for the clergy; Catholic education and titles; for the pastoral care of migrants and travelers; for pastoral care of healthcare.
On May 15, 2009, Pope Benedict XVI appointed him Advisor to the Congregation for the Oriental Churches .
