Biography
Born into a peasant family. Having received primary education, he worked on a collective farm.
In the Red Army from August 17, 1940.
Since June 1941 - in the battles of the Great Patriotic War . He served as a scout in the infantry battalion of the 334th Infantry Regiment (47th Infantry Division, 6th Guards Army, 1st Baltic Front). He was wounded on July 27, 1941 [2] .
On March 25, 1944, in an offensive battle near the village of Matysovo in the Pskov Region, a reconnaissance squad under the command of Sergeant I. A. Salygin captured a height of 173.1 and held it, repelling 5 counterattacks and destroying more than 10 Nazis; I. A. Salygin personally destroyed the machine gun crew of the enemy [2] . April 22, 1944 was awarded the Order of Glory 3 degrees [3] (submitted to the award of the Patriotic War Order 2 degrees) [2] .
In 1944, he was accepted as a candidate member of the CPSU (b) [4] . On the night of July 10, 1944, conducting reconnaissance as part of a department near the village. Komarishki ( Braslavsky district of Vitebsk region ), participated in the capture of the enemy’s guns and the destruction of his calculation, the capture of the artilleryman, who gave important information; in the battle for the village he personally destroyed the machine gun crew of the enemy and up to 15 Nazis [4] . September 11, 1944 was awarded the Order of Glory of the 2nd degree [5] (submitted to the award of the Patriotic War Order of the 2nd degree) [4] .
September 2, 1944, while reconnaissance in order to capture the "language" in the area of the village of Gaili (southwest of the city of Bene, Latvia), in a hand-to-hand fight with the Nazis, he defeated one and captured one. March 24, 1945 awarded the Order of Glory 1 degree.
In June 1945 he was discharged with the rank of foreman. In his native village he worked on a collective farm, as well as on the construction of village facilities.
He was buried in a rural cemetery in Korzhevka [6] .
The central street of the village was named in honor of Ivan Alekseevich - Salygina Street.
