Sylvester Ntibantunganya ( French Sylvestre Ntibantunganya ; born May 8, 1956 , Jishubi , Gitega province ) - statesman and politician of Burundi , President of Burundi in 1994-1996 [1] .

Biography
Ethnic Hutu . In 1993 , he briefly took up the post of Minister of Foreign Affairs , speaker of the National Assembly of Burundi from December 1993 to October 1, 1994. With the death of President Ntaryamira, he became President of Burundi , July 25, 1996 was removed from his post as a result of a military coup organized by Pierre Buyoya .
Currently, as a former head of state, he is a lifelong senator [2] .
